Psy to release Gangnam Style remixes with 2 Chainz and Tyga
We knew Korean pop king Psy couldn’t give up ‘Gangnam Style’ for long!
After revealing to MTV News last year that he was “ending” his signature anthem after his performance on ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,’ it now appears the song is getting a bit of a revamp with the announcement that Republic Records will be releasing a ‘Remix Style EP’ on March 5 in the US.
According to Republic Records, the reworked versions of the hit take the song “straight to the dance floor with propulsive production and uncontainable club energy,” which will hopefully breathe new life into one of the most played tracks of 2012.
Determined not to become a one-hit wonder like so many before him, Psy is prepping for the follow-up to ‘Gangnam Style,’ telling MTV News earlier this year that he will be going it alone for his second single.
“I don't think I'll be doing any collaborations until my new track is done, and it's not done yet, but I'm thinking of doing it by myself, so I can prove I can do it one more time,” he revealed.
“And I'm working hard on it, because I've got to be good with the track and the video, and I've got to be able to perform it on the stage.”
Psy is currently Down Under touring as part of the Future Music Festival. The K-Pop star performed an energetic 30-minute set during the Perth and Brisbane shows last weekend and is set to wow crowds with his slick moves yet again in Sydney and Melbourne this Saturday and Sunday.
