The Internet Is Having A Really Fun Time Burying The Liberal Party For #FakeTradie Ad
How can you tell if someone is a legit tradie or just a paid actor? The good people of the Internet somehow seem to know.
Yesterday the Liberal Party released a commercial in the lead up to the federal election which features a fair dinky "tradie" hi-vis vest, ceramic mug, power tools and all. The not-so-subtle ad has been ridiculed twice over by some critics out there who believe that the supposed tradie is just an actor, spurring the hashtag #faketradie to start growing big momentum online.
The Aussies sure are a cynical bunch so we're not really sure how the Libs thought they'd get away with lines like, "we should just see it through and stick with the current mob for a while". Although it could form part of a bigger strategy - we mean, hey, people are talking aren't they?
Even a senior strategist told Fairfax media: "We're pleased people are talking about our ad."

So who was the actor playing the #faketradie?

Despite all the online hoo-ha that same Lib Party spokesperson insists, "The tradie is real, unlike Mr Shorten's claims about Medicare." Zinger.
Well, there you have it, he's really real. What do you guys think?
