Katy Perry Snubs ‘American idol’
She may be happy to air her dirty laundry in cinema screens across the world – but when it comes to dishing out advice to wannabe singers it seems Katy Perry
isn’t quite so keen.
The pop princess, who recently released her movie biopic ‘Part of Me,’
has turned down the chance to be a judge on hit US reality show
According to The Hollywood Reporter, despite appearing on the series as a guest back in 2010, the ‘Firework’ star says a full time role on the talent contest is too much of a “commitment” right now.
“People have reached out to me about the possibility of being involved, and it's not right for me yet,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.
“It's a real commitment to be on one of those shows. … I have ideas for two or three big, creative things, and I want to be able to fulfill those ideas.”
Meanwhile, fellow chart-topper Adam Lambert has confessed he’d “jump at the chance” to be part of the show, which is currently judged by Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson.
The singing sensation, who was pronounced runner-up in Season 8, told Capital FM of taking part,
“If they were to approach me and if they were to say, ‘We want you to be a judge on the show,' I would love that. I would jump at the chance."
