Katy Perry’s announces release date for new album, ‘Prism’!
With album announcements getting zanier by the minute, it sure takes some creative thinking to make a mark on the music world these days, but Katy Perry has gone and trumped EVERYONE by announcing the release of her new album, ‘Prism,’ on the side of a gigantic truck.
The starlet took to the streets of Los Angeles today for the big reveal, commissioning an enormous metallic gold big rig to make the announcement, with the words ‘Katy Perry, Prism, 10.22.13’ emblazoned on the side of the truck. No cryptic tweets or artful Instagram snaps for this pop star!
“Find the #PRISM semi, take a picture and I'll RT you. Don't worry, Los Angeles is just the first stop on the map,” the ‘California Gurl’ tweeted to her almost 40 million Twitter followers this morning.
And it looks like Adam Lambert followed Perry’s instructions and managed to successfully track down the ostentatious rig, tweeting: “Yes @katyperry this is crazy!! Love it!” along with a snap of the truck which looks to have been taken from a couple of stories up a nearby building.
In April, Billboard reported that the 28-year-old was halfway through her follow-up to ‘Teenage Dream,’ which will feature songwriters including Max Martin, Sia, Dr. Luke, Greg Wells and Bonnie McKee.
McKee, who co-wrote KP’s tracks ‘Teenage Dream,’ ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)’ and ‘California Gurls’ dished to MTV News on the upcoming release, insisting it’s “more grown up and it’s really interesting.”
“I’m really excited for the world to hear it because she's just... she's taking a new approach. And I don't want to say too much about it, but it's definitely different. It's definitely a little more mature than the 'California Gurls' of yesterday.”
