Amber Heard Calls Out Johnny Depp For Using Her Divorce Settlement Dollars As A Tax Deduction
Amber recently donated her $7 million to the American Civil Liberties Union — with the money earmarked to prevent violence against women — and the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
However, now Heard is calling out Johnny for sending their divorce settlement directly to the ACLU and Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. In sending the money himself, he is not paying the full $7 million from the settlement because he would be getting a charitable tax deduction, reported TMZ.
The real twist is that reports say the money is not Johnny's to give away.
"If Johnny wishes to change the settlement agreement, we must insist that he honor the full amount by donating $14M to charity, which after accounting for his tax deduction, is equal to his $7M payment obligation to Amber," Ambers reps stated.
Her team goes on to blast Johnny, "We would also insist that the full amount be paid immediately and not drawn out over many years... anything less would be a transparent attempt by Johnny's counsel, Laura Wasser and Patti Glaser, to reduce their client's true payment by half under the guise of newfound concern for charities that he has never previously supported."
In response, reps for Johnny have responded saying he was honoured by the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles in 2006 for his work with children worldwide.
