Family and friends have paid tribute to the legendary Amy Winehouse one year after her death.
“I’ve finally managed to get a sense of how brilliant she was,” her father Mitch told MTV News.
“She was this great kid, a very strong person…She had a big weakness as well, but she was a lovely. Lovely girl.”
Meanwhile, the late popstar’s goddaughter Dionne Bromfield told fans on Twitter she will “never forget” the ‘Back To Black’ hitmaker, who was found dead at her home in London on July 23 2011.
"No matter what people say to me you were the best! you had a heart of gold with so much kindness sometimes I pinch myself and wish you would come back.
“I will never forget you! Amy you are my best friend, I love you so much."
And fellow music icon Elton John has also paid tribute to the British chart-topper on the first anniversary of her death.
“It’s incredible that it’s been a year. It’s one of the greatest tragedies.
“I saw her at the Shepherds Bush Empire [in London] when she’d just got married to Blake. It was a sensational show.
“I saw her afterwards and said, ‘I’ve seen all the great singers, and you’re up there with all of them’.”
