She’s as famous for her longtime public battle with drink and drugs as her incredible voice – and now Amy Winehouse fans will finally learn the “true story”
about the late singer.
Following her shock death at her London home in July, the ‘Back to Black’
star’s father Mitch has promised to tell-all in an explosive new memoir, titled ‘Amy, My Daughter.’
“I feel that I need to write this book to tell the true story of Amy and to help with my personal recovery,"
he explained in a statement to publishing company HarperCollins.
"I also want to raise as much money as possible for Amy's foundation, so all proceeds from the book will go directly to help children who are disadvantaged through illness and substance addiction.
"I believe that through Amy's music, her foundation, and this book, her name will live forever."
According to HarperCollins, the novel, which is due to be released next year, will reveal the hitmaker’s "mischievous early years, through her rise to stardom, to her much publicised struggles with addiction."
