Ariana Grande Drops 'Thank U, Next' Album, Now We're All Single & Thriving
The Queen of Pop also released her third music video for the album an hour after its release, for the aptly-titled ‘break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored’. The video, which samples ‘N Sync’s 'It Makes Me Ill', features Ari in a third-wheel scenario, in which she arguably chooses her look-alike self in a display of self-love.
thank, u next has already been praised for its intricate mix of vulnerability (cue 'needy', 'fake smile' and 'ghostin') and savageness (enter 'bloodline' and 'make up').

Hey @ArianaGrande, we saw 'NASA' trending this morning and thought it was about one of our new discoveries. But we realized that you might need some space.
🎶 It’s like you’re the universe and we’re N-A-S-A 🎶

But, seriously, try to listen to ‘needy’ without feeling like you’ve been punched in the gut. “And I can be needy,” Grande croons, “way too damn needy / I can be needy, tell me how good it feels to be needed.”
Conversely, we thought it only appropriate to give a special mention to a particularly savage line from ‘bloodline’ - put simply, "don’t want you in my bloodline”. Oooft.
“i’m sorry my posts were late,” Ari tweeted, following the release. “scooter allison my mom and wendy made speeches and i cant stop crying. i love y’all. i hope u enjoy this album. this music, you guys and my friends saved my life. love u. sry. iight bye.”
The album includes Ari's first ever number 1's on the Billboard Hot 100 - 'thank u, next' and '7 rings'. We can’t help but feel like there’ll be plenty more number 1’s to come.
We stan an icon.
