Here's Why The Internet Thinks That Ariana Grande Is Going To Headline Coachella 2019
Festival season is picking up, which means the entire world is looking towards California for the Coachella lineup, the Mecca of all festivals.
After this year's extravaganza - we're still shook from #Beychella - the hype around 2019 Coachella is gearing all the way up. Not only is it the follow-up to Beyonce's record-breaking headlining performance, but 2019 also marks the festivals' 20th anniversary so you know they're going to bring in the big guns.
Earlier this year, reports were surfacing that the three headliners would be Kanye West, Childish Gambino and Justin Timberlake. However, the latter has seemingly pulled out before his slot was even announced due to an entire shift in his tour dates.
So now, assuming that the other two still stand, there's one spot left that we're all desperate for a pop powerhouse to fill. Lady Gaga and Beyoncé have performed the last two years in a headlining capacity, so it would seem natural to have Rihanna complete the holy trinity and give us what we want in 2019. It would also be especially fitting since she has new music coming out next year.
But another pop powerhouse with a new album coming out next year is Ariana Grande. She's just experienced her most successful professional year yet - 'thank u, next' has been #1 in America for the past six weeks and shows no signs of slowing down - and has also been in the headlines more than anyone else this year due to the pretty awful hand her personal life has dealt her over the past two years.
The entire world is enamoured by Grande at the moment, and the Internet thinks Coachella might be capitalising on that by booking her for a slot.
The reason? Well, firstly her Sweetener tour dates feature two noticeable gaps - Sunday 14th and Sunday 21st April. Coachella runs over two weekends, so this could facilitate her perfectly for a closing performance.

On top of that, Coachella has posted images to their official app of incredibly pixelated images of artists on their bill, and one of them bears a striking resemblance to a photo of AG.

We'll have to wait and see to find out for sure, but this has gotten us pretty bloody excited.
