It's been nine months since Mac Miller tragically passed away from an accidental overdose at just 26 years old.
The world continues to mourn the loss of such a young, talented rapper, including Ariana Grande who sang an emotional tribute to her late ex-boyfriend this week.
On Wednesday night, Ari performed 'Thank U, Next' at a show in Mac's hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was visibly upset.
During the lyrics "Wish I could say thank you to Malcolm" Ariana choked back tears and struggled to get the words out.
She's so f'ing grateful for her ex: Ariana Grande performed in Mac Miller's hometown and she honored him by playing his music before the show and reserving a seat for him...It wasn't easy for her, but she made it through the show despite breaking down several times. 💔 pic.twitter.com/db5lWAzeVR

Ariana kept the tributes to Mac front of mind at the show, by playing his music over the speakers and reserving an empty seat for him.
It's painful to watch Ariana struggling over the loss of Mac, but it's also comforting to know his memory is continuing to live on in these beautiful tributes.
Mac's parents have also kept their son's legacy alive with The Mac Miller Circles Fund which aims to help children and community-building programs in Pittsburgh.
We're sending our love to Ariana and all of Mac's family, friends and fans.
