Beck Plunders Song Archives
With no new material on the horizon, Beck Hansen has gone trawling through his archives in search of treasure, aka booty. His search through dusty old boxes has uncovered 13 previously unreleased tracks from the 'One Foot In The Grave' sessions and these are now set to be released as part of a deluxe reissue package.
Recorded prior to 'Mellow Gold' and only released after the success of the 'Loser' single, 'One Foot in the Grave' had Beck firmly rooted in the LA folk music scene. Released by a small indie label, it's long been out of print … until now. The new deluxe version of the album includes the original songs, 13 additional tracks plus three out-of-print 7” only tracks.
While Beck has produced flashes of brilliance in recent years, nothing has been able to stand up to his material from the early '90s. 'Mellow Gold' and 'Odelay' are both considered modern classics and helped turn Beck into an international superstar. Last year's 'Modern Guilt' may have had it's moments, but, let's face it, there was no 'Pay No Mind' or 'Beercan'.
