The Beverly Hills 90210 Reboot Premiere Honoured Luke Perry & We're Honestly Sobbing
The first episode of the Beverly Hills, 90210 reunion, BH90210, has aired and its subtle-yet-poignant tributes to the late Luke Perry have us holding back the tears.
Perry played the integral bad boy Dylan McKay in the original series, and the new show will thankfully not let us forget his legacy.
The esteemed actor suddenly passed away in March from a massive stroke at the age of 52, the shock of which his castmates are still recovering from.
In the BH90210 pilot, there are a few moments that pay homage to Perry, starting with the cast’s first reunion. The squad gets back together at in a convention hotel lobby, with Gabrielle Carteris remarking, “I like that the anniversary brought us together. I can't believe that we're all here.”
Then Jason Priestley hits us all in gut with, “I wish that were true.” ~Cue all the feels~
However, it’s probably the final tribute in the episode that had us spilling the most tears.
Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling are watching the OG 90210, talking about the possibility of a cast reunion as heartthrob Dylan McKay rolls up in his suave black Porsche.
“Welcome to paradise, man. Welcome to your dreams come true,” Dylan remarks to Brandon. Then the episode leaves us on Perry’s trademark effortless smile and heck someone pass us the tissues.
It was simple and perfect and we can’t wait to catch the next episode.
