Beyonce dishes on her upcoming album
Beyonce Knowles is the woman on everybody’s lips right now, what with her Destiny’s Child reunion, killer Super Bowl halftime show performance and the announcement she’s gearing up to debut her documentary ‘Life is but a Dream.’ But it’s the star’s fifth solo album that still seems to be garnering the most attention from her eager fans!
Queen B opened up about her new album to Vogue, describing the record as a mix of ‘4’ and ‘I Am... Sasha Fierce,’ calling it “a lot more sensual” and “empowering” than her previous releases – and it’s all thanks to becoming a mum!
“Right now, after giving birth, I really understand the power of my body,” she revealed.
“I just feel my body means something completely different. I feel a lot more confident about it. Even being heavier, thinner, whatever. I feel a lot more like a woman; more feminine, more sensual. And no shame.”
The star also spoke of recording the album last year in the Hamptons, New York, when Blue Ivy was still only a few months old, with collaborators such as Justin Timberlake and Timbaland invited to live with her and Jay-Z while they worked.
“It was like a camp — weekends off. You could go and jump in the pool and ride bikes ... the ocean and grass and sunshine. ... It was really a safe place,” dished the ‘Love on Top’ singer.
Beyonce’s good pal Gwyneth Paltrow was even part of the proceedings and spoke of the star’s ability to juggle her music and her wee bundle of joy simultaneously.
“Blue was sleeping in her arms, across her body, and B was listening back to what she had been working on,” the actress explained.
“I thought, ‘This is how you do it. You do what you love with who you love included.’”
