Big Boi Returns To OZ!
He was only here a few months ago for Winterbeatz, but it appears Big Boi has a thing for Australia, because the rapper has revealed he is returning back down under in November!
Best known as one half of America’s much-loved hip-hop act Outkast, the Atlanta born rapper confirmed to underdercover.com that he will be returning to our shores as part of a car show and hip hop gig put on to promote EA Sports new video game ‘Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit’ at the Hordern Pavilion on November 18.
And hardcore Outkast fans can rest assured that they will again hear songs from their fav duo on the charts, with Big Boi putting to rest rumours around the future of Outkast, which up until recently has been under a haze of uncertainty.
Talking to MTV Australia back in July he said,
“Yes, after the solo records come out, we plan on doing an OutKast record. Dre is working on his solo record right now. We're working on another album right now as we speak called 'Daddy Fat Sax: Soul Funk Crusader'. The thing is to keep putting the ideas down and having fun with it.”
But not one to rest on his laurels, Boi has already started working on the next album, in between touring and promotional commitments.
“I keep recording. I started my tour about three months ago, the ‘Son Of Chico Dusty’ tour and in between times I’ve still been recording, so I’m still like six songs deep into it,” he said of the album tentatively called ‘Daddy Fat Sax: Soul Funk Crusader’.
“For the most part it’s about just recording and putting ideas down and then you just revisit them as you’re recording them. I’m switching around constantly, I don’t just work on one song, the whole time I am switching around songs.”
