Against Me! Big Day Out Sideshows Announced!
Punk rockers Against Me! are bringing their energetic live show to Australia next year for the ‘2013 Big Day Out’ – and now, it’s just been announced that the band will be performing a handful of exclusive sideshows!
The band is set to play their only shows outside of the Big Day Out festival at Manning Bar in Sydney and the Hi-Fi in Melbourne this coming January.
Laura Jane Grace (formerly known as Tom Gabel) started Against Me! as a solo act back in 1997, but in 2001 she beefed up her sound with the help of a full band. The current line-up features the talents of guitarist James Bowman, bassist Andrew Seward and drummer Jay Weinberg.
In June, Against Me! sat down with MTV News in the US, where frontwoman Laura Jane Grace opened up about life on the road as a transgender artist.
“It’s a challenge, but touring has always been a challenge”
“It’s in our blood, it’s what we do, and being able to adapt to the changes that happen is just part of what being in a band is about”
Famous for blending punk, folk, and country into socially conscious and impassioned anthems, Against Me! have played over 2,000 gigs worldwide and are renowned for their powerful live shows.
