MTV VJ Kate Peck joins Rock ‘N’ Ride!
Our very own MTV VJ Kate Peck has joined forces with some big names in Aussie music for ‘Rock ‘N’ Ride’ - a race through four states over five gruelling days all in the name of raising awareness for headspace, the National Youth Mental Health Foundation.
Rev-head Kate will be joined by Grinspoon frontman Phil Jamieson, Chris Joannou from Silverchair, Jake Stone of Bluejuice fame, Big Day Out CEO Adam Zammit and more for the motorbike ride, which kicks off this Sunday at the Gold Coast Big Day out and ends at the Big Day Out in Adelaide on January 25.
“The sheer insanity of riding from Queensland to Adelaide in five days for a great cause during Australia's most EPIC music festival is enough to make my wee brain explode with uncontrollable, insatiable excitement!!” said Kate, an avid motorbike enthusiast.
“Over the 21 years of Big Day Out we have seen hundreds of thousands of young Australians from 15 years and older and many musicians and artists grow up and get through a variety of personal challenges, as we all do in life,” said Zammit.
“It is important that we continue to remind young Australians that there is always support and that it’s important and OK to talk about mental health, we hope Rock ‘N’ Ride is the start of a great enduring partnership between headspace and Big Day Out to keep youth mental health at the top of everyone’s agenda.”
headspace is an organization which provides young people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, bullying, drug and alcohol problems with support and services across Australia. Throughout the ride, the Rock ‘N’ Ride group will be stopping into headspace centers in QLD, NSW, VIC and SA regional towns.
Make sure you check back later this month for Kate’s wrap up of her Rock ‘N’ Ride adventure!
