Black Eyed Peas Go Boom!
The Black Eyed Peas are back with a new single - their first release in nearly four years.
‘Boom Boom Pow’ is the first track to be lifted from their forthcoming album and sounds just as ridiculous as the name suggests. Already doing massive sales online, the group's record label is predicting the song will debut at number one on the Billboard charts - the first time the 'Peas have grabbed top spot.
Despite the band's huge success this decade, they've never actually hit #1. Their highest charting singles to date have been ‘Don't Phunk With My Heart’ and ‘My Humps’, both reached #3.
The last Black Eyed Peas album, ‘Monkey Business’, was released back in 2005. Since then, we've seen solo albums from Fergie and Will.i.Am. Will's album wasn't exactly a blockbuster, but he's made a small fortune in recent years producing other acts, among them, Michael Jackson. We have no idea what the other two guys from the group do in their spare time. Bowling, perhaps?
Anyway, the new album is called ‘The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies)’ and is due for release June 2009.
