GodWolf - the electronic brainchild of Melbournians Joe Kosky and Tom Armstrong - is steadily gaining serious attention throughout Australia and the world. Formed in early 2011, GodWolf now enjoys success as a two-piece DJ act, and as a mesmerising five-piece live band.
In 2013 GodWolf teamed up with the world-class crew at Australian label etcetc to release their single ‘Alone’ which was rated 5 stars by Triple J’s Rosie Beaton who gave it a stellar review: “I don't give out 5's very often but this is flawless dance music - great vocal and production.”
GodWolf’s 2014 single 'See it Through' saw the duo combine their trademark ambient energy with disarming songwriting. 'See It Through’ was co-engineered by Sameer Sengupta (Elizabeth Rose, The Aston Shuffle, Alison Wonderland) and received enormous praise from Dom Alessio, Lewi McKirdy and The Aston Shuffle and rose through the ranks to claim a Top 10 spot on the iTunes Dance Chart. Dave Ruby Howe explained that “GodWolf have always had that silky sheen to them and this tune has the kind of soulful resonance that people are loving right now.”
GodWolf’s most recent single ‘Feels Right’ hit #1 on Hype Machine and was featured on some of the world’s largest YouTube channels (including MrSuicideSheep) and reputable blogs which led to the single garnering over a million plays online.
Now GodWolf have finally graced the world with their debut EP ‘On Repeat’. It features Armstrong's trademark production touch which accompanies and brings to life Kosky's tales of personal but relatable life experiences. Mixtures of upbeat tropical vibes mixed with downtempo chilled elements creating a perfect blend of moods to accompany any day perfectly.
With an overriding vibe of catchy indie pop, in the words of the band “We like the idea of blending the ethereal with the vicious: the ambient with the aggressive: the God with the Wolf.” Their live hybrid-electronic band harmoniously brings two energised worlds of music together, creating a unifying experience that is not to be missed.
