MTV Brand New's Emerging Kiwi Artists!
Each year MTV Brand New introduces us to some exceptional talent and 2016's competition has been no exception.
The international contest, which landed in Australia last year, has already helped to launch the careers of some phenomenal performers among the likes of Sam Smith, Jessie J and Connor Maynard.
Thursday night's event in Auckland showcased performances from two up and coming kiwi artists, who are both in the running to win the contest.
MAALA is one of the next big names in NZ music. The Auckland based singer/songwriter was signed by Sony at the age of 17 and has since taken over airwaves both nationally and internationally. His new album 'Composure' has already received rave reviews from Zane Lowe and his single 'Kind of Love', co-written with MoZella (writer of Miley Cyrus’s Wrecking Ball), made over a million plays in its first month of release!
Ryan Enzed's and MAALA's acts were incredible and the pair are well and truly on their way to hitting the big time.
Ryan Enzed is a self-taught music producer whose Youtube channel (nzmusic101) has over 34,000 subscribers and almost 6 million views. He has performed at several events alongside David Guetta, Zedd, Cedric Gervais, Flume and more. Ryan is currently signed with Warner Music NZ.
