Catfish: Felipe finds out who the real Jasmin is in sad, disturbing twist
It’s the show that holds us all in spine-tingling suspense with every episode we watch, and the latest ep does not disappoint!
Meet Felipe. He's a 23-year-old guy, living in Texas, has a 5-year-old daughter, and is in love with a girl he’s met online, but because this is Catfish, something isn't quite right…
Enter Jasmin, the girl Felipe has fallen head-over-online heels for. Felipe says Jasmine makes him feel so “special” and is the “girl of his dreams” but every time they try to meet in real life, she pulls the plug at the last minute.
After some back-and-forth intimate online conversations, Felipe has found himself in the dilemma where he’s anxious to meet this wonder woman, but is suspicious she may not be all that she’s made herself out to be! Sounds like a job for the Catfish boys.
After some intense investigating, Nev and Max have discovered that 'Jasmin' is actually stealing photos from 'Paris Roxanne’s' account, and is using Paris’ identity and killer looks to deceive and hook not only Felipe, but multiple men all over the world.
Once Felipe hears the news that his dear Jasmin is not who he thought she was, he’s heart-broken, but eager to find who the real Jasmin is...and so are we!
Nev, Max and Felipe set up a meeting spot with the anonymous catfish at a local park, and what Felipe is about to find out, not only shocks him, but the Catfish experts too.
It turns out the mysterious 'Jasmin' is actually 'Luis,' and he lives in the same neighbourhood. But hold up, there’s another twist, Luis is close friends with an ex of Felipe’s, Alex (the lady in white.)
Felipe struggles to contain his anger, but manages to pull through.
The Catfish fellas arranged a tell-all sit down with Luis to get to the bottom of this fake-identity conundrum, this is the moment Luis reveals a deep, dark and incredibly sad secret. Luis bravely opens up about his past of sexual abuse and mistreatment, which left him feeling unwanted and attention seeking, so he created a fake online identity to gain attention from hundreds of people.
It turns out every Catfish has their motives, but after some help and counselling, Luis was able to say goodbye to his catfish days and start the healing process.
