Chris Brown arrested for felony assault after altercation in Washington DC
It seems Chris Brown has landed himself in hot water once again, after reportedly being arrested for felony assault on Sunday, following an altercation with a man in Washington DC.
TMZ reports police were called to the W Hotel around 4.25am, after a fight broke out in which Brown allegedly punched the unnamed man once in the face.
The R&B singer’s bodyguard was also arrested and both were taken to a local police station where they remain in custody. Both parties are expected to appear in court as early as tomorrow to request bail.
The victim told TMZ he photobombed a picture the 24-year-old star was taking with two female fans before the rapper “went nuts” and broke his nose. The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated and later released.
Police do not believe there was any connection between the singer and the victim, and don’t suspect the rapper to have been under the influence of anything.
This follows on from the incident in 2009, in which Brown was sentenced to five years probation and 1,400 hours of community service for assaulting then-girlfriend, Rihanna. If found to be in violation of his probation, the ‘Forever’ singer could face up to four years in prison.
Earlier this year the 24-year-old encountered a close call when he was involved in a hit and run incident. Luckily the judge revoked his probation and instead gave him an extra 1000 hours of community service.
According to CNN, the notorious bad boy is scheduled to appear at a probation status hearing on November 20. In the past two years Brown has been involved in two other altercations with rappers Frank Ocean and Drake, neither resulted in criminal charges however.
