Chris Brown’s Courtroom Drama
Chris Brown's lawyers are worried that evidence in his assault case makes him look incredibly guilty.
Appearing before a Los Angeles judge last week, the legal team announced they wanted the whole matter thrown out of court because police leaks had prejudiced the trial and made their client look like someone who hits women.
Presumably, they were referring to the images of a beaten and bruised Rihanna that appeared on the internet after her altercation with Brown back in February - the very incriminating images that totally undermine Brown's 'not guilty' plea.
While the lawyers are doing their thing behind the scenes, legal experts have said the ploy is unlikely to work. According to one LA criminal defence attorney, Jeffery Rubenstein: "If [Brown's lawyers] makes an issue of leaked evidence, it's unlikely the judge will dismiss the case. It's not police conduct at issue here, it's Chris Brown's." The court case been pushed back to 28 May.
Meanwhile,Rihanna has cancelled a show she was due to perform in Dubai, with a spokesperson stating the timing wasn't appropriate. It was supposed to be her first live show since the altercation with Brown.
