Ciara Wants To Be A Supermodel!
Music just ain't paying like it did, especially since no one actually buys albums anymore. So how is a star to survive? Ciara's figured it out - just jump on the entrepreneurial bandwagon along with everyone else.
The R&B beauty has just revealed that she has signed with a top modeling agency Wilhelmina to help win her more contracts in the clothing and fragrance industries.
She says, "Modeling has always been one of my aspirations. But I was insecure about my height. I thought I was 5 foot 7 inches but I just found out that I'm 5 foot 8 inches so I'm really excited about that."
The "1, 2 Step" singer, who is rumoured to be dating 50 Cent, is ecstatic about the new career path. She has also unveiled plans to launch her own fashion line with budget with budget department store Steve & Barry's, following in the footsteps of actress Sarah Jessica Parker's 'Bitten' range. Ciara is currently the face of rap mogul Jay-Z's 'Rocawear' clothing line.
She adds, "I have a couple of cool things that I'm working on. The coolest thing about Steve & Barry's is they cater to everyday people. I won't say that my line will be like theirs, I want to stay true to who I am, but most importantly it has to be affordable."
One of those other 'cool' things she is working on is her third album which she claims will "take fans on a musical journey." According to rollingstone.com, Ciara has split her tunes into three discs that'll be packaged together, but focus on different genres: "Crunk Town," "Groove City" and "Kingdom of Dance."
While the concept may sound a little tawdry, Ciara claims the album will be far from cheesy. She says . "I want to challenge myself and do things that are a bit edgier. "I'm reaching further and digging inside, and I'm not afraid of what comes out."
Let's hope whatever comes out of Ciara it won't be bad fashion! We've had more than our fare share from J Lo's self titled clothing label and Beyonce's 'House of Deron'.
