The Indisputably Badass Jane Fonda Accepted An Award While Being Arrested
Jane Fonda is possibly the coolest octogenarian we have ever seen.
She recently moved to Washington, DC to enact what she calls 'Fire Drill Fridays' on Capitol Hill, taking more “direct action” in striking for climate change.
I’m inspired by @GretaThunberg and the young people who came out in unprecedented numbers, behaving like the mature adults in the room. Greta has called on us to get out of our comfort zones, stop business as usual and start behaving like we’re in a crisis, like our house is on fire...because it is. So I’m moving to DC to take more direct action. Stay tuned. #fridaysforfuture #climatestrike
The 81-year-old actor activist was arrested on Friday (Oct 25) for her latest demonstrations, but she made sure to get her BAFTA acceptance speech in while she still could.
She was awarded the Stanley Kubrick Award For Excellence In Film over the weekend and accepted the award via video, saying she’s sorry she couldn’t be there in person but as viewers may have heard, she’s been arrested. B.A.D.A.S.S.
If accepting a big-time film award while getting cuffed for activism isn’t an absolute mood, then we don’t know what is!
~Pure chaotic energy right there~
Somebody frame this lady and put her right above our desks for inspiration. We can only dream of being nearly as legendary as the one and only Jane Fonda.
