Leighton Does Hip-Hop
Leighton Meester impressed pop world with her feature appearance on Cobra Starship’s ‘Good Girls Go Bad’ – now she’s announced details of her very first album.
And the gal who plays ’Gossip Girl’s’ Upper East Side queen bee Blair Waldorf is getting all hip hop on y’all’s asses.
The twinset-and-pearls rocking telly star has revealed she’s been in the studio with rap heavyweight Lil Wayne.
Leighton told MTV: “I sent him a couple of my songs... He's been diggin' on them for a while. Then he heard ’Make It Rain’ and he was like: 'All right, I'm gonna kill it.'"
"He was so sick - he didn't even write anything down. He just, like, vibed to the music and dances. I don't even know how he does it – he's amazing.”
The actress/singer has also been channelling Katy Perry.
She revealed: “There's one [song] called 'You're Not as Cool as You Think You Are.’ It's pretty much about anybody who thinks that the song isn't about them. And it's really funny and it's cute.
“It's really poppy — it's kind of like Katy Perry meets Regina Spektor. It's really cool production and very sassy."
Goss Gal fans can expect to land Leighton on their iPods come Autumn 2010.
The 23-year-old, soon-to-be-slashie added: “I'm thinking maybe sometime in February or March… I'll have a little bit of time to tour and really get into it and do a live show."
