HOLY SHIT IT'S HAPPENING: Conor McGregor & Floyd Mayweather Reach Agreement For 'Billion Dollar' Fight
After almost a year of intense speculation, it finally looks like boxing legend Floyd 'Money' Mayweather and UFC king Conor McGregor will be going head-to-head in the ring.
The news comes just after McGregor nabbed himself a boxing license in the States and released footage of himself sparring with a partner to Instagram with the caption 'Boxing at SBG'.
According to several reports, Money's reps have been meeting with Conor's camp in recent weeks to finalise the ground-breaking deal which will mark the most lucrative fight in history. Apparently the only thing holding up the official announcement is a third party.
“The contract hasn’t officially been signed yet because of a third party holdup but all details have been agreed on,” A source close to McGregor told the Irish Sun.
“The fight could even be announced within two weeks.”
Ah shit, it's all too much!
While both teams are busy crossing their T's and dotting their I's, there's still one major hurdle facing McGregor- Dana White. The UFC boss will need to give his permission for the fight to go ahead because Conor is still under contract with the MMA giant.
White recently told the press: “He’s (Conor) under contract with us. You have a contract for a reason." Adding, “And if that’s what Conor wants to do (fight Mayweather), he’s got four fights left. He’s got four fights left with the UFC. Fight your four fights and, you know, go out and do what you want to do.”
Ok so he has a few more fights, a signature to collect and we're good to go? Let the countdown begin, people!
