FUR REAL: This Kiwi Couple Are Set To Open Another Cat Cafe In New Zealand
Listen up crazy cat ladies & gents, you're in fur a real treat.
One Christchurch couple are planning to open another cat cafe in New Zealand & but this time, it's going to be giving back to the animal community.
According to Stuff, husband and wife duo Alyssa O'Connor & Nate Ball are planning to open Garden City's very first 'Catnap Cafe', early next year.
The highschool sweethearts are currently fundraising for the project as their centre will also be helping to re-home homeless cats.
"We are very aware of the overpopulation of stray cats in Christchurch and the limited resources available to help them. Although local rescue organisations do an amazing job and help hundreds of cats every year, we want to help them to help even more!"
"Catnap Café will be the South Island's first cat café – operating as both a traditional café and as a home (temporary and permanent) for local rescue cats. Our mission is to provide a safe, fun and relaxing environment where cats and people can enjoy each other’s company and to promote the adoption of rescue cats."
Alyssa & Nate - who volunteer for Christchurch Cat Rescue - are aiming to raise over $25,000 to turn their dream into a reality, and so far $7,000 has been donated.
If you want to help the purrfect cause, more info can be found on their Kickstarter campaign here.
