Eminem Needs The Doctor
Eminem is back in the studio with Dr Dre, putting the finishing touches on his comeback album, 'Relapse'.
The release is tentatively scheduled for February 2009 and will be the rapper's first solo album in several years. Or, more accurately, the first since 2004's 'Encore'.
Speaking about the upcoming release with Billboard, the rapper said that the studio sessions with Dre were coming together nicely and that the ideas and concepts were flowing thick and fast. "Me and Dre are back in the lab like the old days, man. Just him banging away on tracks and me getting that little spark that makes me write to it. I don't have chemistry like that with anyone else as far as producers go not even close. Dre will end up producing the majority of the tracks on 'Relapse'. We are up to our old mischievous ways ... let's just leave it at that".
The rapper went on hiatus in 2006 after the death of his friend and D12 bandmate, Proof. He had already been talking about retiring at that point and pretty much disappeared from the world stage in the fallout from the death and media controversy surrounding it.
