How to throw an EPIC party, according to DJ Tigerlily
DJ Tigerlily is no stranger to flights in and out of the country, with her busy schedule taking her on extensive tours to grace fans with her fun-loving, vivacious sets.
The vibrant Aussie DJ still loves what she does and continues to create a wonderful, colourful atmosphere with all her shows that capture a particular vibe unique to her name, a name that's earned her a spot on the EMC (Electronic Music Conference,) Sydney panel alongside Carl Cox, Gilles Peterson and Ta-ku,
It's no surprise she's been chosen, she's one of Australia’s most favoured DJ’s, voted in the top 5 DJ’s for both 2014 and 2015 as well as #1 female DJ three years running, which is a credit to her hard work and determination.
“Practice, practice, practice!" She told MTV Australia. "You need to be able to nail your art and be really good at it and be able to do it in your sleep. So whether that is DJ’ing or producing or both, you really need to know what you’re doing because there’s only so far you can take it if you’re faking it.”
Gal has performed in some of the worlds most renowned venues, played in festivals in Australia and Europe as well as being the main supporting act for Tiesto in his Asia and USA tour.
When she's not jet-setting around the globe, Tigerlily delivers a unique entertainment experience with her ‘Kiss My Tigerlily’ show at Pacha Sydney, co-curated with the Squared Division (Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, American Idol). The event is jam-packed with colourful sequins, sextronauts and giant unicorns to help spread her #teamunicorn message that she desires so much.
Aside from completing her Media & Communications degree at Sydney University and become ambassador for RU OK?, she has been working hard creating her debut EP after signing to Island Records Australia with the first single ‘Paradise’ landing midyear, 2015.
There really isn’t much this musical mermaid hasn’t accomplished.
Waking up one morning after a set in Malaysia, she remembers smelling like veuve clicquot after having ‘champagne showers’ with the Prince of Malaysia backstage at one of her shows. There's absolutely no denying she can party, and we want to know her secrets!
When she landed back home in Sydney this week, we caught up with her to discuss how in the hell to throw a party, according to yours truly, DJ Tigerlily.
The guest list for DJ Tigerlily would be all her closest friends, including every DJ she knows because they know how to party AND can provide great entertainment. Duh. Not to mention Justin Bieber for the eye candy, model Emily Ratajkowski for the boys and Katy Perry because she is her ultimate girl crush. And security? Not a problem with Mr and Mrs. Tigerlily on the doors.
Summer, Miami, spring break style - so everyone is in bikinis; everyone is in swimwear, sunglasses and visors. Really fun, really colourful…but minimal clothing. Cheeky.
Carl Cox because he plays the most epic 7/8/9 hour sets – no bangers, just good house tunes.
Pepperoni Pizza and frozen margaritas. That is all.

Red wine or vodka, lime, waters. No sugary/energy drinks for DJ Tigerlily – she keeps it healthy sans a sugar hangover.
Taking a spin on the beloved lolly-bags, hers would include edible candy bra’s & panties, her own ‘iamu’ flash tattoos, rainbow zinc, visors and cocktail umbrellas to match her 'beach party' theme.
Twister and a slip & slide of course!
The Morning After
No take out! Green smoothies or a hydrolyte drink with eggs on toast.
