Making The Band Disband
You could be forgiven for thinking that P Diddy has changed the format of his 'Making The Band’ reality series into the ‘The Apprentice’ after firing every single Danity Kane band member, bar one, in its fourth season of production.
The Danity Kane troupe started with five members - now it’s down to the lonesome Dawn Richards after scandals, rumours and in house catfights tore the girlie group apart. Meow!
The first to leave the band was the media spotlight addict Aubrey O’Day, who allegedly got the boot for being more diva than necessary. Doesn’t she know that’s Diddys job?
D. Woods was next, then following a heated discussion with Combs, Shannon Bex decided not to return to the fourth season of ‘Making The Band’.
But the real kicker came when he also announced that he'd also be letting Fimbres out of her ‘Bad Boy Records’ contract. "You're a great person, you're a great girl, but if I did another group, I wouldn't feel comfortable doing a group with you," he told her. "I've given a lot of thought and I'm gonna let you out your contract too."
Diddy waited almost the entire season to tell Aundrea that she would no longer be apart of the Bad Boy label or a Danity Kane band member – why to drag it out Dids!
He than revealed that he would be keeping Richard on at his Bad Boy label.
"As far as for you, Dawn, I still want to make music with you. I still want you to be signed to the label," he said. "And if I decide to put back together Danity Kane, then you'll be the only member that'd still be there."
He continued, "This isn't a decision I wanted to make. To be honest, y'all girls made this decision for me."
After being let out of her contract, Fimbres said, "We worked really, really hard to be where we are, and for it to end the way that it did sucks," she said. "But I can't be mad. I've done the things that I came here to do.
"I'm connected to them for the rest of my life because of something we accomplished together," she added. "Danity Kane will always be D., Aubrey, Shannon, Dawn and me."
On Thursday, Diddy Tweeted about his decision. "To all the Danity Kane fans-i truly am sorry. I really did my best.. I'm lookin fwd 2 makin another female band! Thank u 4 all ur support!!!" he wrote. "At the end of the day i just want people to be happy.. if Danity Kane couldn't be happy together, i'd rather they be happy apart. All love!!!"
