Dave Turns Director!
There’s no denying he knows how to rock a stage like no other – and now Dave Grohl is ready to ‘Breakout’ and take on Hollywood too!
The Foo Fighters frontman, who recently took on a cameo role in ‘The Muppets Movie,’ will direct an explosive new documentary
‘Sound City’ about the world famous recording studio.
The iconic hub in California is not only where the legendary musician worked during his Nirvana days, but it’s also the place that’s seen the likes of Metallica, Fleetwood Mac and Nine Inch Nails make music history.
“Sound City is a film about America's greatest unsung recording studio,” he told MTV News in a statement.
“It was witness to history. It was home to a special few, intent on preserving an ideal. An analog church, a time capsule. The last bastion of a craft defied by technology. It was rock and roll hallowed ground. And it was our best-kept secret. Now I want to tell its story."
The project is said to feature performances and interviews with a host of famous acts and producers. It will also include a look at the albums recorded there and the use of technology.
As yet there’s no release date for the documentary, but according to MTV News, it will be distributed by Roswell Films, a division of the label that releases all of the Foos’ music.
