Demi Lovato to play Naya Rivera’s lesbian love interest on ‘Glee’
Demi Lovato is set to make a bang when she returns to the small screen on the upcoming season of ‘Glee,’ with the show’s star Naya Rivera confirming that the singer will be playing her lesbian love interest on the hit musical comedy.
“I mean, she’s playing my love interest, so I’m very, very excited about that,” the actress – who plays Santana on the show – told MTV News at the ‘2013 MTV Video Music Awards’ this week.
“We get to sing a song together. It’s gonna be good. I’m excited to work with her – we’re bringing her to the dark side. She comes in in a Beatles episode, so [we’re singing] a Beatles song. I’m excited.”
And Naya isn’t the only one eager to get stuck into the storyline, with Demi herself taking to Twitter to reveal she’s starting on the set this week.
“Wayyyyy too excited to be starting @GLEE this week!!!!!!!,” she wrote adding: “I can’t believe I’m going back to acting but the best part about it is that I get to act/sing with some of my really great friends.”

Naya also has some very exciting things of her own in the pipeline, getting set to release her debut album in the near future – with the first single ‘Sorry’ expected to be available in a matter of days.
“Yeah, you know, I teased a little bit of the cover art last week and it drops on iTunes next week. And I’m so excited,” Rivera told MTV News.
“It’s a personal thing and I’m really looking forward to people getting to see Naya outside of Santana on ‘Glee.’
The starlet’s boyfriend Big Sean appears on the song and fans already seem to be going crazy for the jam.
“I only saw good things from my fans. They seem to really like it,” dished the 26-year-old.
