Ed Westwick Has Been Dropped From New Series After Sexual Assault Allegations
Much like Kevin Spacey being dropped from House of Cards as well as being replaced in Ridley Scott's All The Money In The World, actor Ed Westwick, of Gossip Girl fame, has been dropped from the upcoming BBC mini-series Ordeal After Innocence after the serious sexual assault allegations brought against him.
The series was set to air over Christmas, but was suspended due to the overwhelming allegations against Westwick.
His role of Mickey Argyll will instead be played by Christian Cooke, who has had an absolute f*ckton of experience acting in BBC productions. He'll begin shooting later this month, with fellow actors returning on-site in Scotland to reshoot their scenes.
In November, Westwick fervently denied the claims by Kristina Cohen and Aurelie Wynn in a small statement.
"It is disheartening and sad to me that a as a result of two unverified and provably untrue social media claims, there are some in this environment who could ever conclude that I had anything to do with such vile and horrific conduct. I have absolutely not, and I am cooperating with the authorities so that they can clear my name as soon as possible."
