In Other News, Elon Musk Has Challenged Johnny Depp To A Cage Fight
Sometimes celebrities can’t stop raving about each other in interviews (see: Tom Holland and Jake Gyllenhaal's love affair). Other times, they’re challenging each other to cage fights. In the case of Elon Musk and Johnny Depp, you can guess which category they fall into – they're far from good pals.
I'll explain: as you might’ve heard, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are in the middle of some intense legal proceedings in the UK. Johnny is suing New Groups Newspapers (NGN) over a The Sun headline calling him a “wife beater” and the accompanying story alleging he was physically abusive to his then-wife Amber. Johnny said the claims are “sick and completely untrue” and that it was in fact Amber who was the abusive one in their relationship. It's a very messy and upsetting situation with myriad headlines of which you can get across here. For the purposes of this story, though, we're sticking to the Elon Musk saga.
Last week, Elon’s name was dragged into court. Johnny had claimed Elon and Amber had started dating before he and Amber’s relationship had ended and that Elon had had a threesome with Amber and Cara Delevingne. “I’ll show him things he’s never seen before like the other side of his d**k when I slice it off,” Johnny had written in a text to his mate Christian Carino at the time. Charming.
Word of course travelled back to Elon, who said in an interview with The New York Times this week: “I definitely was not having an affair with Amber while she was married to Johnny, this is totally false. We did not have the threesome, you know. So I think people think these things are generally more salacious than they are.”
So how do the King of Mars, his Galactic Princess and their newborn son, X Æ A-Xii, spend a Saturday night holed up in their Los Angeles pad? Our columnist @nytimesdowd sat down with Elon Musk, the billionaire space oddity, and they talked about life with Grimes and Baby X, Tesla, tunnels, short shorts, stock surges, Facebook fumbles, President Trump, Kanye West and everything else under the sun. Musk said with confidence “that we’re headed toward a situation where A.I. is vastly smarter than humans and I think that time frame is less than five years from now.” “But,” he added, “that doesn’t mean that everything goes to hell in five years. It just means that things get unstable or weird.” Tap the link in our bio to read the full profile of one of the richest Earthlings, in @nytimesfashion. Elon added that he hoped the couple could “bury the hatchet and move on” and that Johnny “recovers from this situation”. Sounds amicable enough, right? Until: “If Johnny wants a cage fight, just let me know.”
Your move, Johnny.
