Mariah's Not 'Obsessed' With Eminem
While news outlets were onto Mariah Carey's supposed send up of Eminem like a dog on a dropped chop, hubby Nick Cannon has revealed they couldn’t be further off the mark in a new interview with MTV News.
"I don't know. Honestly, I don't think so," Nick said when asked if the song and music video ‘Obsessed’ is about Eminem, who allegedly took a well aimed blow at M in his track, 'Bagpipes From Baghdad."
"I don't think that she would take her time," Cannon said. "My wife doesn't beef. She's Mariah Carey. She's not beefin', she's a vegetarian."
He went on to say that the song, which will be the lead single on the Diva’s upcoming album ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’ actually drew inspiration from a Lindsay Lohan flick.
"People keep saying ['Obsessed'] was directed at certain people," Cannon said. "She did the record 'cause she's a huge fan of this movie 'Mean Girls,' and there's a line in the movie where one of the girls is like, 'Why are you so obsessed with me?' That's where the concept came from. But you know, art imitates life."
If that’s the case, then it begs the question as to why Mariah was snapped sporting a getup noticeably similar to Eminem's performance wardrobe, opposed to a ginger wig?
While the pictures tell a different story, we’ll find out for sure when the single is released down under on August 28!
