Fall Out Boy to tour Down Under!
There’s nothing better than your favourite band making a surprise comeback so there’s no doubt Aussie Fall Out Boy fans are jumping for joy this morning with the news that Patrick Stump, Pete Wentz, Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley are releasing a brand new album AND making their way Down Under!
For the past few years there has been speculation that FOB had broken up indefinitely, though the band never confirmed a split.
And while it seems a ‘reunion’ has been in the works for a while now, the band chose to keep their plans completely under wraps, with guitarist Joe Trohman even taking to Twitter just a few weeks ago to deny the claims.
"The rumors are still untrue, unreal & totally outta this world! *shreds gnar, does surf's up hand signal*. Seriously, it's not going down," he tweeted.
But the band published a statement on their official website today, announcing they’re well and truly back in business!
“When we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music,” the statement reveals.
“It’s why we started Fall Out Boy in the first place. This isn't a reunion because we never broke up. We needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us.
“The future of Fall Out Boy starts now. Save rock and roll...”
The foursome will be heading to our shores in March ahead of the release of their latest album ‘Save Rock and Roll,’ which will release in Australia on May 3 – four days ahead of the rest of the world!
Fall Out Boy’s brand new single ‘My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)’ is available on iTunes now.
‘Save Rock And Roll’ Australian tour dates:
SYDNEY – Metro Theatre – Monday March 25
MELBOURNE – Palace Theatre – Wednesday March 27
