The stellar rise of Ne-Yo's star isn't over yet. In fact, it's only beginning. The Grammy award winning, multi-platinum, chart topping songwriting wonder is about to drop another collection of songs with the soulful purity that has defined his tracks since his first release two years ago.
With Ne-Yo's third album, 'Year Of The Gentleman', the talented performer is ready to reveal another growth in songwriting and performing.
"I suppose growing up around so many women must have given me some insight," says Ne-Yo who is currently writing songs for Celene Dion, Whitney Houston and Lindsay Lohan. "I used to hear everything my mom, aunts and sisters would say about life and love. When I write songs for women I pull from those learned experiences."
He is arguably the most successful song-writer today, with a knack for writing career-reviving hits for the biggest names in the biz. Ultimately, Ne-Yo stands out from the pack as an artist who understands the essence of a good song provokes thought, while inciting emotion.
The first single from 'Year Of The Gentleman' will be 'Closer', produced by Ne-Yo's old friends Stargate who first broke out with their work on 'So Sick'. It's a mash up electro-excursion in the glam of Euro-disco and a definite change of pace for the man with the silky voice.
As he reports on his Year Of The Gentlemen Blog, "Just like anybody else, if you keep doing the same thing over and over again, no matter HOW much you love it, eventually you will get bored, and that's a normal person. Me, I have a very short attention span, always have, so I get bored extra easy. So with everybody doin' the same ol' thing, wearing the same ol' thing, sounding the same. My question is, how is everybody else not bored?"
Neyo's upcoming release is a masterful excursion through the heart and mind of America's latest soul boy wonder, whose next barrage of hits will surely dominate this year's charts. And we can't wait.
