The Lazy Person’s Guide To Being Healthy This Summer
Did you know that Australia has the second highest rate of skin cancer in the world? Slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat, seek shade, slide on a pair of sunglasses and join the generation that's putting an end to skin cancer, one summer at a time, thanks to the legends at Pretty Shady.
ICYMI, or you've been Netflix and chilling too hard, summer is officially HERE.
However, the work to look sh*t hot for bikini season doesn't stop as soon as the sun starts shining.
Getting off your butt can be a real pain in the butt when temperatures are soaring to 30 degrees and beyond.
That's why we've got your covered with the ultimate lazy person's guide to being healthy, staying sun safe and absolutely killing it this summer.
You're very welcome.
1. Make Ad Breaks Work By Working Out
Deep in a multi-day Geordie Shore marathon with little-to-no contact with the outside world? Make the ad breaks work for you by working out during them.
As soon as an ad break begins, try squats, sit-ups, tricep dips...anything that won't require you moving out of the living room vicinity, but will give you a killer summer bod while you binge-watch.
2. Walk To Wake Up
If you're the kind of lazy millennial who loves nothing more than hitting the snooze button 15 times before ACTUALLY getting up, then try this.
Set your alarm and leave your phone on the other side of the room before going to bed. Not only are you forced to walk to stop the mind-numbing noises coming from your phone, but once you're up, you're up - snooze-free.
3. Go Frozen
CBF when it comes to cooking meals at home? Stash a batch of berries and veggies in your freezer for healthy and delicious fruit smoothies, lazy mid-week dinners or pre-pay day meals.
4. Give Your Makeup The SPF Treatment
It can often be too-hard-basket to remember to pack sunscreen, or apply it once you're out and about. Wearing makeup or moisturiser containing at least SPF 30+ will not only give you a ~flawless complexion~ but it'll protect you from those harmful Aussie summer rays.
5. Prep The Night Before
If you're short on time and your only option is to smash out a workout bright and early in the morning, prep your workout gear the night before. Have it laid out and ready-to-go, or sleep in it if you have to! We won't judge.
6. Load Up On Veggies First
Fancy yourself a masterchef? Fill half your plate wth vegetables and eat them first. This way you're loading up on all the good stuff before tucking into empty carbs (or late-night chocolate).
7. Get Off Your A*se At Work
Did you know that more than one-half of an average person's day is spent being sedentary - sitting, watching TV or working at a computer? Yeah, SHOOK. Take the stairs, go make a coffee, set an alarm to get up and walk around or instead of firing off another email, talk to your co-worker IRL, the good old fashioned way.
8. Treat Yo' Self To A New Pair Of Shades
....And we're not talking about those novelty speed dealers you found at the dollar shop. Invest in a pair of sunnies that meet the Australian Standard to protect those precious peepers and keep your lewk ~on trend~
