Fleetwood Mac cancel Australia and New Zealand tour
Fleetwood Mac have announced the cancellation of the Australian and New Zealand leg of their tour due to the ill-health of bassist, John McVie.
The co-founder of the band is scheduled to undergo treatment for cancer during that period of time, forcing the rock veterans to pull out of their highly anticipated 14-date tour Down Under.
The band released a statement yesterday announcing the sad news, telling fans: "We are sorry to not be able to play these Australian and New Zealand dates.
“We hope our Australian and New Zealand fans as well as Fleetwood Mac fans everywhere will join us in wishing John and his family all the best.”
The rockers, who just wrapped up their European tour, were set to play an extensive run of shows around the country starting at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on November 10. The tour was in support of their new EP, ‘Extended Play’ - their first release in nearly 10 years.
Refunds are now available, with tickets booked online or by phone being refunded automatically.
