He rose to fame as one third of the most famous grunge act to come out of Seattle, and now, fresh off hiatus and well into recording the next Foo Fighters album, Dave Grohl has revealed he’s reuniting with fellow Nirvana band mate Krist Noveselic!
Talking to the BBC Radio 1, Dave said the yet untitled-album, which will be the groups seventh, will feature his old band mate playing bass on a song, and will also be helmed by legendary ‘Nevermind’ producer Butch Vig.
"The last month and a half we've been in my garage recording totally old school analogue with Butch Vig," he said. "This whole project has been really cool because I haven't made a record with Butch in 20 years, almost exactly 20 years."
While he didn’t say much about Krist’s contribution, simply stating that he "came in the other night and played bass on a song", Dave did mention that the band were going to be making a movie about the “experience”.
The offering, which Dave described as the band’s “heaviest yet” is the Foo’s first album since 2007’s ‘Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace,’ which earned a Grammy nod for Album Of The Year. Shortly afterwards, the band went on temporary hiatus so Dave could focus on drumming duties for Them Crooked Vultures.
Talking about the album, Dave said, "basically [in] 2011 you're not gonna be able to get us out of your hair, that's what we're planning."
"I know the record and I can't wait 'til everyone else hears it," he added. "Foo Fighter fans are going to freak out because honestly, it's awesome."
