R.I.P Future, organisers cancel festival
It’s the festival we all know, love and count the sleeps til, but today the promoters of Future Music Festival, Mushroom Group, has cancelled the event indefinitely.
A lack in ticket sales and a rise in technical costs is said to be the root of the cancellation according to the festival’s organisers.
We get the feeling the cancellation is going to have a “don’t know what you got til it’s gone” effect, as festival fanatics are already voicing their distress and disappointment on all social media avenues, especially Twitter.
What is going on with the Australian music festival scene? Future is now no more, SW isn't as big as it used to be and BDO is gone too.

Drake, Avicii and Die Antwoord were just a few of the massive names that owned the stage at this year’s festival, but it seems that not even they could save the festival from extinction.
Our sincerest apologies to all the shirtless gym-junkies and the glow-stick addicts who were already primping and preparing for Future Music Festival 2015, but not to worry, Stereosonic is just around the corner.
