The Guy Responsible For Fyre Festival Has Been Sentenced To Six Years In Prison
How could we possibly forget the major f*ck up that was last year's Fyre Festival!?
Promoted by the likes of Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Hailey Baldwin, the festival promised a luxurious experience.... But it all ended in chaos.
Attendees paid anywhere from $1,000 to $125,000, but when they arrived in the Bahamas they found their glamorous accommodation looked more like relief tents.

Fyre Festival made headlines all around the world and became the ultimate cautionary tale for those trying to pull off a major music event with major money thrown behind it.
It also didn't without consequences for the festival's founder, Billy McFarland.
This week McFarland was sentenced to six years in prison and ordered to forfeit $26 million for multiple counts of fraud.

...And it wasn't just Fyre Festival that landed the 26-year-old in court, either. In June, McFarland was arrested a second time for targeting Fyre Festival attendees with a new ticket scam called "NYC VIP Access."
The scheme promised ticketholders exclusive access to VIP events like The Grammys, the Met Gala and the Victoria's Secret Show. McFarland allegedly scammed $150,000 from clients without offering anything in return.
Billy McFarland had pleaded guilty to wire-fraud charges in the Fyre debacle as well as two more fraud counts fraud for running a sham ticket-selling business.

“The remorse I feel is crushing,” McFarland said in court. “I've lived every day with the weight of knowing that I literally destroyed the lives of my friends and family.”
Sounds like justice was served this time around, and please, for the love of god, let's make sure Fyre Festival never happens again.
