2013 Logie Awards winners!
It’s hands-down the biggest night in Australian television, and with a house packed with the biggest names in Aussie entertainment plus some stand-out international stars, the ‘2013 Logie Awards’ was once again a glittering success!
Pop superstar Bruno Mars was in the house to kick off the festivities, taking the stage to perform his chart-topping smash ‘Locked Out of Heaven,’ dressed in his signature fedora with a full backing band in support.
Radio and TV duo Hamish Blake and Andy Lee had the audience in stitches as the first presenters of the evening, arriving on stage in ‘The Voice’s big red chairs (Hamish claiming he’d borrowed Joel Madden’s for the evening).
Proving he has well and truly won the hearts of Australia, Joel took home the Logie for Most Popular New Male Talent, while ‘The Voice’ was crowned Most Popular Light Entertainment Program.
“Thanks for the Logie Australia,” tweeted the Good Charlotte singer last night.
“I owe you for this one. Everybody who voted I really am humbled. Thanks for this it means a lot to me.”
In the real life Hamish Vs Andy playoff for Most Popular Presenter, Hame trumped his bestie Andy to take home the honour – but did take the opportunity to gush over his pal’s looks, driving ability and beautiful smelling hair during his acceptance speech, as well as giving a special nod to his new wife Zoe Foster.
“When life hands me malt and hops and barley, you turn it into this amazing drink I've never had before,” quipped the comedian.
MTV’s own Molly Meldrum presented ‘Redfern Now’ star Shari Sebbens with her Logie for Most Outstanding New Talent, but not before dropping the F-bomb after attempting to mimic Graham Kennedy’s infamous crow call!
“Didn't see that coming! Good ol' Molly Meldrum... #Logies,” tweeted Kyle & Jackie O.
One of the stand-out stars of the night was ‘Offspring’ actress Asher Keddie, who scored a Logie double – taking home the silver award for Most Popular Actress and the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality.
“It's not lost on me just how fortunate I am to have such generous, supportive people around me, including the wonderful ‘Offspring’ family,” exclaimed the blonde beauty during her acceptance speech.
Following on from Bruno Mars’ killer opening number, Michael Buble, teen singing sensation Birdy and ‘The X Factor UK’ alum Olly Murs kept the crowd entertained with stunning performances of their own throughout the rest of the evening!
