Guy Sebastian Just Dropped New Single ‘Standing With You’ & We’re Playing It On Repeat
After weeks of teasers, Guy Sebastian has finally dropped his new track, "Standing With You", and we love it.
The single's one of Guy's most personal yet. It centres around issues surrounding mental-ill health and the struggle to support loved ones who are suffering. Guy spoke to the song's key themes in a recent message he shared in the lead-up to the song's release.
“A family member of mine was going through a very tough time, and he was brave enough to share his battle with his own mental health, and that inspired this song,” he said on Twitter.
The single feels especially apt given our current circumstances; times are tough – and this song is all about coming together in those moments.
“So much of this year has been about standing up for what’s right, and also looking after each other, you know. With the virus, it’s all about protecting the vulnerable, and now with everything that’s happening with the protests – it's about changing things that have been in place for so long that need to change, and I feel like we’re all standing with each other,” he said in the same video message.
The track is the fourth single to be released from Guy’s forthcoming ninth(!) album. There's no word yet on when the full album will drop.
