Warner Bros. Is Apparently Developing Another 'Harry Potter' Spin-Off Series, This Time On Dumbledore
Could the next Harry Potter spin-off see Dumbledore take centre stage?
It should be a very happy Friday indeed for Harry Potter fans with news Warner Bros. could have another spin-off in the works – this time centring on the one and only Albus Dumbledore.
A seemingly legit-looking publication called We Got This Covered is reporting that while the studio continues to work on the Fantastic Beasts spin-off, another idea getting tossed around is an HBO Max prequel series focusing on a younger Dumbledore, who they’re saying will be played by Jude Law.
Interestingly, the news comes days after the same publication reported Daniel Radcliffe, who played the role of Harry Potter in the original flicks, would be keen to reprise his role again – but only provided author J.K Rowling had nothing to do with it.
They claimed a source told them the actor would be down to dust off his wand, but only if “J.K Rowling isn’t involved in whichever project he signs up for, as he looks to distance himself from the author’s controversial series of statements.”
Rowling has long been known to post problematic tweets, but in June of this year, she posted some of her most direct and offensive yet. Given the fact they came right in the middle of the global pandemic, it was even more frustrating.
Alongside an opinion article, Rowling tweeted: “’People who menstruate.’ I'm sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?”

Daniel, who has long been a supporter of The Trevor Project, an initiative which focuses on suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning youth, wrote an open letter to Harry Potter fans who might've now felt “their experience of the books has been tarnished or diminished”. You can read his full letter here.
So, is there a chance Daniel could join the Dumbledore spin-off series? We're going to go ahead and put out want we want to get back, and go with a resounding yes.
