J.K. Rowling's Been Dark Marked By The Potter Fandom For This Major Let Down
The world just can’t get enough of Harry Potter – even 22 years since its original release, we STILL WANT MORE!
Yesterday, J.K. Rowling posted a super cryptic tweet for the first time in six months that had her fans believing there could be a movie of The Cursed Child and boy oh boy were we quick to grab our Hufflepuff robes and dust off our broomsticks. But alas, we we’re all very wrong (god damn MUGGLES).

The graphic of a death eater skull and Slytherin snake sent Potterheads into a flurry of speculation that the play, which opened three years ago on London’s West End, could be in the process of transitioning to the screen.
Set two decades after the Battle of Hogwarts, the play is the official eighth instalment of what is arguably the most loved narrative to ever exist. Considering the play’s phenomenal global success, it makes perfect sense to assume the story would be turned into a movie for everyone’s viewing enjoyment and not just those close to a theatre city.

However, in the biggest let down of a v intense 24 hours, it turns out it was all a marketing scheme for an announcement that hijacked New York City’s Time Square (where The Cursed Child is currently being performed).
All the fuss revealed was a new poster and logo for the play. Big freaking whoop. *cue the wails of Moaning Myrtle*
We were so hyped! We thought that something bigger than that was coming so we're all a bit disappointed with the announcement (especially those who live far from any city with the play on stage!)

That was the most anti-climatic thing I've ever seen. How do you guys promise a big announcement and it's only the new branding when everybody have already seen it on social media??? There were plenty of people around the world waiting for a big announcement. So disappointing.

Well, here’s to still hoping one day the gang will reunite to bring this story to cinematic life – maybe they’re waiting a literal two decades to shoot this one and have the actors age with the characters? That seems legit, let’s just go with that. The hope has not been lost!
