Heavy D Dies Age 44
Fans around the world are reeling from the news that rapper and actor Heavy D died last night aged 44.
According to USAToday.com, the Jamaican-born entertainer was rushed to hospital after a 911 call was made from his Beverly Hills home.
TMZ reports that no foul play is suspected, and officials are investigating the death.
Just hours before the 911 call was made, the star tweeted a simple message, "BE INSPIRED!"
Twitter has seen an outpouring of grief from his celebrity friends in the last twelve hours. Samuel L. Jackson wrote, "Ahhh man! Heavy D?! Dwight wz a dear friend. Fond memories of a truly cool brutha."
"This is too heavy, I can't believe it,” said Usher. “HEAVY D was just here. Truly gone too soon. My heart and support goes out to his family. R.I.P HEAVY"
"Man. I was just with Heavy D recently in London. Had I known it'd be the last time I'd see him, I woulda told him he was truly great. RIP..." wrote Ne-Yo.
Joel Madden tweeted, "Heavy D was a truly positive and uplifting man. Rest in peace Heavy. Its a very Sad day today."
Jill Scott wrote, "Oh my heart aches!! In shock. Can't believe Heavy D is gone. Such a positive sweet hearted man. Please pray for his daughter."

Heavy D, real name Dwight Arrington Myers was best known for his 1991 hit ‘Now That We Found Love’ but also made a number of appearances in movies including ‘The Cider House Rules’ and ‘Life’.
Just last month, Heavy performed at the Michael Jackson tribute concert in Wales and the BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta. He also has a minor role in the new Eddie Murphy comedy ‘Tower Heist’.
