INXS mini-series cast revealed!
The actors set to portray the members of INXS in the upcoming mini-series ‘Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS’ have been announced, following Luke Arnold’s casting as lead singer Michael Hutchence earlier this year.
The Seven Network revealed the line-up last week, which features a number of household Aussie names including former ‘Packed to the Rafters’ star Hugh Sheridan, as well as a couple of lesser-known faces.
Sheridan is set to play bass guitarist Garry Gary Beers, while Alex Williams of ‘Underground: The Julian Assange Story’ fame has been cast as Kirk Pengilly.
‘Underbelly: Squizzy Taylor’ star Andy Ryan will be playing keyboardist Andrew Farriss and newcomer Nicholas Masters is set for the role of guitarist Tim Farriss.
Kiwi fans will recognise actor Ido Drent, cast as drummer John Farriss, from hit local drama ‘Shortland Street,’ with the star having also appeared on Aussie show ‘Offspring.’
Damon Herriman (‘The Sullivans’) will play INXS manager CM Murphy.
Tim Farriss himself has been involved with pre-production of the series and revealed that working on the project brought back fond memories of Hutchence, who died in 1997.
“I've been spending a lot of time with the cast and I'm amazed,” explained Farriss.
“At times I actually thought Michael was there. It has been all forms of emotions for me - I'm very excited.”
‘Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS’ begins production in Melbourne this week.
