Bored Americans Are Watching Aussie Rules Football & They've Got No Fkn Clue What's Going On
Life is looking a little different for people these days. To keep ourselves sane, we're branching out and exploring new ways to be entertained.
For sports-obsessed Americans, who have had all their live sports leagues suspended due to COVID-19, they've stumbled upon our AFL. And they've got no bloody clue what's going on.
Plenty of viewers have started tuning in to the likes of Fox Sports and have been pleasantly captured by Aussie rules football and Rugby League. Sometimes you just need to see a bit of competitive game play even if you really don't understand the rules, not even one bit.
The only live sport left on earth! I’m an @AFL fan from way back! I dare say they’ll gain a few new fans in the US in the next couple week. Go the Hawkas!!! @HawthornFC #coronaviruspandemic #quarantineball pic.twitter.com/gN6KfoffWh

Last night I was introduced to the @AFL.. I don’t know how I’ve gone this long not knowing it existed.
It’s INCREDIBLE. pic.twitter.com/aiYQo5tlNy

Aussie Rules football is on FS1 and, not going to lie, I’m a fan.
Have no idea what’s happening but it’s absolute insanity.

We're happy to see our sports stars are doing their bit to help out right now.
This is of course bittersweet because it has just been announced that the AFL season has been suspended. For shame.
Who knows, maybe after all of this is over, we'll have a legion of US fans heading Down Under to watch grand final season.
