I'm Going To Be Confident For A Month To Test The 'I Feel Pretty' Theory
Are the critics missing this point or is this movie's true spirit all about getting an important message across to society rather than becoming a cinematic great?
To say that 'I Feel Pretty' has had a profound effect on me would be an understatement. Seeing a woman with low self-esteem suddenly gain confidence and have amazing things fall into place in her life, well I've never seen anything like that on screen.
And while I walked out of the cinema keen to soak in a little bit of that magic and gain a little perspective on how to use self-esteem to achieve my goals, there was also another niggling feeling.
Was this just another Hollywood fairytail with a message that doesn't stand up IRL or can you really change your course by walking around like you're shit hot?
Well, I've decided to test the theory.
Frustrated with certain aspects of my life not going the way I want them to, I have decided to take up the 'I Feel Pretty Challenge'. For the next month I will be listing a number of challenges and tasks for myself to complete. Now these are some crazy, out-there ideas that my self-doubting ass would never have the confidence to do. But over the next month I'm shooting for them all to see if a heavy dose of 'I'm the shit' can really help you achieve allllll your dreams. *This Is What Dreams Are Made Of Plays Softly In The Distance*
So here are the goals....
1. Get My Own Show
For a really long time I have wanted to host my own show. I have pitched it forward and nothing has been green lit....which of course has sent me into a self-doubting spiral about my talent and career. But not today! Today I'm going for it with all of my shiny new confidence. Move out of the way Oprah! (Please don't move out of the way Oprah, I friggen love you).
2. Do Stand Up
This one is pretty simple. I've wanted to do stand up, but have always felt too scared. This should be interesting.
3. Get An Agent & A Role In A Movie/TV Series
For anyone who has known me since I was young, will know I was a H-A-M as a kid. I loved putting on plays, and playing different characters. I was heavily involved in drama at school and then at some point you tell yourself you've gotta grow up and let go. But it made me really happy and I want it to make me happy again. I want to star in a movie or TV series. Things are getting wild.
4. Appear On The Ellen DeGeneres Show
This is just a 'why not?' one I've thrown in there. I love Ellen and I think she'll love this message.
5. Become An Abassador For A Charity/Organisation
I want to try, in some way, to give back. I never had the confidence to start those conversations or expect that anyone would even want my help.
6. Present In Front Of A Huge Audience
Despite my line of work, sometimes public speaking can reduce me to a puddle of wee. I want to get up in front of a huge audience and do a presentation.
7. Be On The Cover Of A Magazine
I mean, now that I'm fabulous, why the hell not?!
8. Appear On The Project
I want to make some noise with this challenge and encourage other people to do it. What better way to do that then appearing on Aussie primetime television?
9.Star In A Campaign
Listen, I'll spruik Wet Wipes if I believe in the brand enough (and yeah I believe in Wet Wipes). This is more to prove that an every day kinda gal can be the face of a brand.
10. Go To The MTV Movie Awards
I never believed that I was important enough to go along to this event. I don't have many followers on Instagram, but I DO love movies and MTV. Let's see if we can get this gal there.
11. Have Dinner With Amy Schumer
THIS IS THE BIG ONE. I adore Schumes and you know what, I would love it if we could catch up, chat about I Feel Pretty and drink 3 bottles of Pinot Grigio. She has inspired me for a really long time and she has unknowingly encouraged this epiphany in me. So really, I'd just like to thank her.
So there are 11 big challenges for me to have a crack at over the next month.
I want to encourage you all to do the I Feel Pretty Challenege and start manifesting this stuff together! Use the hashtag #IFeelPrettyChallenge, hit me up let me know how it goes. I'm going to be documenting this all and putting up some videos too, so I'd love to feature some of your experiences.

I might not achieve all or any of these goals, but I have a feeling deep down, things are about to get good. See you at the end of the month!
